Men,
Thank you for setting aside the time to participate in this year’s NCC Men’s Conference. Your willingness to gather, listen honestly, and pursue greater holiness is an encouragement to the churches of our collective.
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” — Mark 1:15 (ESV)
The conference began with a clear invitation: stop treating the Christian life as behavior management and begin living in the kingdom Jesus has made present to us. Pastor Tom Clinkscale named its central resource plainly: “The riches of the kingdom are the empowering availability of God’s grace.” That grace is not merely how we entered the Christian life; it is God’s active provision for becoming men who live like Jesus from the inside out.
That means dropping the mask. Pastor Don Theriault reminded us, “The gospel of the kingdom is not a gospel of behavior management. It is the gospel of transformation.” Pastor Tim Robinson made the same movement practical: “God does not call us into the light merely to expose us. He calls us into the light with the promise that he will cleanse us.” We do not bring God a polished religious compartment. We bring him our brokenness and are honest with him about it.
Call to action: Begin where the conference began: acknowledge the place where you are striving, hiding, or managing appearances. Bring it into the light before God and a trustworthy brother. Then ask God to do in you what willpower cannot. The kingdom is present, his grace is available, and he intends to form us into men whose ordinary lives display the life of Christ.
